JAUPT award the AWARE Series ‘best-practice’ during their initial online audit.
NTP’s online training DCPC modules are a great way for drivers, technicians and operational staff to maintain their skills and increase their knowledge and for your business to remain compliant whilst showing a duty of care to their training, health and wellbeing.
We have converted a number of our physical modules into online Zoom conferenced modules; each uses the same content and framework and can award 7-hours of DCPC periodic training.
The courses we have available are all specifically designed for the Roadside & Rescue industry and, through Work Provider sponsorship, we are able to offer at a 10% discount.
The first courses which have been converted, we believe, are the most valuable for the industry during these very trying times, these include:
Mental Health AWARE: Looking at Mental Health & Wellbeing in the transport industry and focusing on the Roadside & Recovery industry. Taking into account the current situation, recognising factors that can affect mental health, the symptoms and methods of prevention. https://www.aware-series.co.uk/aware-courses/mental-healthaware/
Electric Vehicle & Hybrid AWARE: Our very popular EV course specifically designed for the industry to improve awareness and alleviate fears when working with these alternative fuelled cars. https://www.aware-series.co.uk/aware-courses/hybridaware/
Roadside AWARE: A basic H&S module that also makes up one part of our IMI VR Modules 1, 2 & 3. Taken in conjunction with the online Pubic Aware course (and subsequent Practical Assessment, once the lockdown restrictions are lifted) your staff can be working towards these mandatory modules for the FMG Ltd managed Highways England (SS17) contract. Learning includes everything that a recovery professional should know to risk assess and be safe at the scene. https://www.aware-series.co.uk/aware-courses/roadsideaware/
Public AWARE: The second module that makes up our IMI VR Modules 1, 2 & 3. Public AWARE focuses on customer care, compliance and how to effectively communicate with customers in different situations and settings. https://www.aware-series.co.uk/aware-courses/publicaware/
Smart Motorways AWARE: Commissioned by Highways England, specifically for the Roadside & Recovery industry, this module focuses on identifying the different types of Smart / Digital motorway, assessing the risks and evaluating the safe working practices when deploying resources and attending breakdowns and collisions on the smart motorway network. https://www.aware-series.co.uk/aware-courses/smart-motorway-training-for-the-rescue-and-roadside-industry/
Attached is a full schedule of courses running through the “furlough” period from April to mid-June.
Prices are shown with or without DCPC hours and, where necessary, include all upload and certification costs. For those staff who don’t need DCPC hours such as Technicians, Managers and Control Room Operators they can still undertake the full course and will be issued a Certificate of Attendance which can be used for auditing and compliance purposes.
Note: for all staff working towards the IMI VR Modules 1, 2 & 3 they will need to complete the workbooks and pass a Practical Test before the IMI certification is awarded, to be arranged once Lockdown restrictions are lifted. (Additional costs will apply)
In addition, we have several online, e-learning courses available to meet H&S at work, corporate / employer liability requirements and improve skills and knowledge, with prices starting from £20, these include:
- DriveAWARE: a driver awareness course that can be undertaken for anyone who drives as part of their job including; vocational drivers, fleet and “grey” fleet drivers. Providing important H&S, best practice and health & wellbeing information with a final assessment that is recorded for auditing, training & compliance purposes.
- IMI Electric Vehicle Modules 1-8: a two-part course that provides a general awareness of electric and hybrid vehicles, suitable for anyone who comes in contact with these alternative fuelled vehicles. Note; this is a great e-learning course and very informative but not specific to the industry.
- IMI Advanced Driver Assistance Systems: specifically designed course for Technicians who work with ADAS, to ensure that they have the ability to calibrate Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, demonstrate their ability to identify and correctly interpret information relating to a specific vehicle and determine which method of calibration is required. Technicians looking to undertake this standalone module should be working in the automotive industry and must have the relevant diagnostic experience to ensure that they are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques required to calibrate ADAS systems.
(Note: as an authorised PATAM card distributor we can confirm that both the DriveAWARE and IMI EV Module 1-8 are included in the new £60 for 3-years membership price. As a digital identity and skills accreditation card, it can be used as a fraud-proof Key Worker card during these times as well as speeding up collection and delivery times at depots and compounds. Bollington’s, insurers for the industry, have recognised the card as a great risk-management feature and are offering a reduction of up to 10% on annual premiums for companies who have adopted the card scheme.
